General Changes

Survarium Patch 0.57 Highlights

Technical Skill Tree

While designing the new skill tree, our goal was to come up with more interesting abilities than simply increasing a characteristic by 1%. Of course, not all technical skills introduce new gameplay mechanics, but we tried to create enough abilities that do. Some of them may seem too strong (and they could be), so expect more balancing and fine tuning in the upcoming updates.

Balance Changes

We would like to see you using a larger variety of weapons in Survarium, so we are decreasing effective distance of assault rifles and increasing pistol damage. Many people complain it's too easy to use sniper rifles, so it now takes longer to aim with SRs to reduce quickscoping. The changes are also made to some of the less frequently used supplies. In addition to its current effects (reducing bleeding damage and stopping power affecting your character), Anesthetic will provide total immunity to fractures.

Updated Grenade Smoke

We continue to work on the new renderer, and one of the most prominent changes is a new visualization of the smoke grenade particles. The smoke is darker and more dense, so it’s possible to spot other characters in the smoke only at the distance of a few meters.

General Changes

    Elo ranking is now the same for all game modes (except leagues). This should improve matchmaking speed and make the matches more balanced.
    Your new ranking corresponds to the ranking in the mode when it was the highest.

Character Skills

    Introduced new skill tree: Technical.
    All characters' unlocked skills were reset for free. You will get the skill points back and can redistribute the m.
    Improved smoke grenade. Now the smoke is darker and more dense, so characters are harder to see.
    Equanimity skill now reduces demasking radius by 5%, 10%, 15% depending on the skill level.
    Firm grip skill now reduces dispersion when moving by 2%, 4%, 6% depending on the skill level.
    Accuracy skill now reduces dispersion when shooting from the hip.

User Interface

    Instead of a time stamp a timer is now displayed in the matchmaking penalty window. When the timer reaches zero, you can enter the queue again.
    Now the ingame chat closes when you click any window in the Premium shop.

Weapons, equipment and supplies

    General Changes

      Changed how optical sights affect dispersion and recoil. It is now harder to shoot with x3 and x4 sights, compared to version 0.57. And it's easier to shoot with x6 and x8 sights, compared to version 0.57.
      Sight Sway modifier parameters on optical sights decreased to -10%...-30% (with increments of 2%).
      RGD-5: damage increased from 150 to 170.
      RGO: damage increased from 130 to 150.
      Now your character will not receive fractures when under the effect of Anesthetic. Its other effects (reducing bleeding duration and stopping power affecting your character) remain the same. Anesthetic duration is unchanged: 10 sec.
      Motherwort extract: bonus changed from "Resistance against fractures +30%" to "Sight sway -15%".

    Sniper Rifles

      Barrett: M82: aiming time increased from 0.65 to 0.8 sec.
      ASVK: aiming time increased from 0.7 to 0.8 sec.
      VSSK Vychlop, SV-1367 "Dusk": aiming time increased from 0.6 to 0.65 sec.
      Mosin carbine: aiming time increased from 0.4 to 0.5 sec.
      Remington-700, SV-98,ТOZ-122: aiming time increased from 0.45 to 0.55 sec.

    Assault Rifles

      AKM, AKM'65.: effective distance decreased from 60 to 45 m.
      Valmet Rk.62, Valmet Rk.62 NY 2017: effective distance decreased from 60 to 45 m.
      AKS-74U, AKS-74U: "Corsair": effective distance decreased from 50 to 35 m.
      М4A1, М4A1 "Hi-Tech", M4A1 NY 2017: effective distance decreased from 65 to 50 m.
      AK-74M: effective distance decreased from 70 to 50 m.
      AК-74N, AК-74N'82: effective distance decreased from 75 to 55 m.

      Ots-02, Ots-02 "Kiparis", AEK-919К "Kashtan", PP-91 "Kedr": damage increased from 36 to 41.
      PPSH-41: damage increased from 36 to 38. Armor-piercing increased to 17.
      PP-2000, PP-2000 "Ornament", PP-19-01, PP-19-01 NY 2018, PP-19-01 "Vityaz", H&K MP5, H&K MP5 "Shamrock", Kriss Vector, Kriss Vector "Shamrock", H&K MP5 "Bloodlust": Armor-piercing increased from 11 to 14.
      UMP-45, UMP-45 NY 2016, UMP "Halloween 2019", Uzi: damage increased from 48 to 50, Armor-piercing increased from 14 to 16.
      H&K MP7: reduced recoil. Decreased horizontal barrel sway.

    Pistols

      M1911: armor-piercing increased from 14 to 16.
      APS: damage increased from 38 to 41.
      Yarygin pistol: Armor-piercing increased from 11 to 14.
      Cz-75: armor-piercing increased from 11 to 14.
      Glock-17: damage decreased to 35, Armor-piercing increased from 11 to 14.
      Beretta: armor-piercing increased from 11 to 14.
      Colt Python: damage increased from 57 to 60.

    Shotguns

      MP-153, Spas-12, Benelli M4, Saiga-12: distance increased from 20 to 22 m.
      Vepr-12: distance increased from 25 to 28 m.
      Jackhammer, Pancor Jackhammer: distance increased from 22 to 25 m.
      TOZ-66: distance increased from 15 to 18 m.
      KS -23: distance increased from 10 to 15 m.

Bug Fixes

    Fixed an issue when you received a penalty if you left the queue right as a match was starting.
    Fixed an issue when the loading screen did not disappear after connecting to a match.
    Fixed an issue when the post match screen had empty players' profiles.
    Fixed an issue when a random player's profile was selected on a post match screen.
    Fixed an issue when the post match screen had incorrect number of bots.
    Fixed an issue when decals window was not updated after changing an account.
    Fixed an issue when it was impossible to go to the inventory tab from the achivements tab.
    Fixed an issue causing screenhots to not be created.
    Fixed an issue when tutorial subtitles were displaying in the next match.
    Fixed an issue when login form disappeared after entering incorrect password and continuously clicking on the login button.
    Fixed an issue when stationary sensor model did not disappear from the location after you resupplied using an ammo box and set another sensor.

Read Survarium Update 0.57 Preview

Hi everyone! It’s been over a month since the release of the previous big Survarium update, and it’s time to share with you what’s coming in Survarium 0.57.

A New Weapon for the Renaissance Army

As a result of the holiday Faction Challenge event we promised to implement a new weapon for the winning faction, and what suits the Army better than a legendary AKMSU weapon? Legendary in a sense that the weapon is not in the GRAU index, and only a few actual copies of the weapon exist, one of those being in the Royal Armouries Collection. Some people think this weapon never existed (as a piece intended for use in the Soviet Army) and was made in Pakistan or Afghanistan. Some people think this is a secret rifle that failed to pass the tests. Anyway, even if it’s a myth, the weapon will make it into Survarium.

The choice of weapon is also largely attributed to the fact we’ve wanted to introduce new types of modules into the game for a long time. And so these modules fit other weapons, we chose the AKMSU as a piece that has some cool looking parts which could fit other AK rifles. Among these modules will be the following: extended magazine, pistol grip, light-weight bolt carrier group, charging handle and buttstock.

The Extended magazine increases the number of bullets, but reduces reload speed. The Light-weight bolt carrier group increases rate of fire and recoil. The Buttstock reduces recoil and increases spread when firing from the hip. These are only examples, we will have other new modules in Survarium 0.57. Also keep in mind that parameters of the modules can be changed based on the PTS testing, or in one of the upcoming Survarium patches and balancing updates.

AKMSU is still in the works, so we are posting a couple renders of the new modules.

Balance Changes

Since we are talking about balance, we want to make some changes to the parameters of some weapon types, because even after increasing recoil when using x6/x8 optical sights, assault rifles are still very popular across all tiers of equipment. We would like to see you using a larger variety of weapons in Survarium, so we will be decreasing effective distance of assault rifles and increasing pistol damage.

We are also looking into increasing effective distance of submachine guns and shotguns, but first we’d like to see if reducing effective distance of assault rifles is enough. After all, we do not want to go from one extreme to the other (veteran players should remember when everyone used to play with a shotgun).

The changes will also be made to some of the less frequently used supplies. In addition to its current effects (reducing bleeding damage and stopping power affecting your character), Anesthetic will provide total immunity to fractures. Duration will be unchanged: 10 seconds. Moreover, Anesthetic could become more useful because we will introduce new skills which increase effectiveness of traps, mines and grenades.

Technical Skill Tree

We announced two more skill trees in addition to the three existing ones a few years ago, but the team always had tasks with more priority. Well, enough is enough: it’s time to finally spice up the game with some new skills!

While designing the new skill tree, our goal was to come up with more interesting abilities than simply increasing a characteristic by 1%. Of course, not all technical skills will introduce new gameplay mechanics, but we tried to create enough abilities that do. Some of them may seem too strong (and they probably are), so we are going to change them based on the PTS test results. Additionally, expect more balancing and fine tuning after the skill tree hits the public server.

Please see the examples of new abilities below.

    The Last Chance. If you have a grenade, you will drop it upon death. The grenade explodes dealing reduced damage (compared to usual grenade damage). More points in the skill increase the damage.
    Capacitor M2. Upon destroying an anomaly with a capacitor, you will pick up the artifact (if you have space in the backpack).
    Experienced Sapper. Your character does not activate allied traps and mines.
    Metal Detector. Enemy traps, mines, C-4 and grenades are highlighted in radius (meters). More points in the skill increase the radius.
    Jagged Edges. Traps, mines and C-4 always cause bleeding.

The smoke is darker and more dense, so it’s possible to spot other characters in the smoke only at the distance of a few meters. We are also fixing a few annoying UI issues causing incorrect display of players post-match and various bugs with the loading screen.

These are only some of the upcoming new features and improvements. We will publish the full list of changes in Survarium 0.57 shortly before the update is released to the public server. We plan to have testing on the Public Test Server next week to gather your feedback about the skill tree and balance changes.
